International Translation Day – 30 September 2012
International Translation Day is celebrated every year on September 30th on the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered as the patron saint of translators.

Translator Frank Wynne to be honoured at Irish International Translation Day (29 September 2012, Dublin)
The Irish Translators’ and Interpreters’ Association (ITIA) will mark International Translation Day with a special evening event on 29 September 2012, free and open to all, to celebrate the achievements of Frank Wynne, widely acclaimed for his translations to English of such French-language authors as Frédéric Beigbeder, Ahmahou Kourouma and Claude Lanzman. He has also translated a number of Hispanic authors to English. Frank will be interviewed by Dr John Kearns, and will be presented with Honorary membership of the ITIA in the course of the evening.
The event will take place at 6.30 pm at the Irish Writers’ Centre, Parnell Square Dublin 1.

On September 30, Lexcode will gather all of their accredited translators and interpreters in the Philippines to honor them on that special day. The gathering will be held at the 6750 Executive Lounge at the 4th floor of the 6750 Ayala Corporate Tower, Ayala Avenue, Makati City at 6pm.
